START (Recruitment) Application

Role: Application Developer

The objective was to design and develop an internal recruitment and reporting tool for the Human Resources department.

I streamlined the existing paper-process into an online application by interviewing Human Resources personnel and observing them perform recruitment and reporting tasks.

To test that the application was intuitive and successfully met the needs of the Human Resources personnel I observed them interacting with the application. Based on these observations I redesigned and implemented improvements as needed.

Web-Based Training

Role | ELearning Designer

The objective was to create mandatory internal employee Web-Based Training, including Respectful Workplace and Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) Awareness, that integrates with a Learning Management System (LMS).

I collaborated with Subject Matter Experts and reviewed existing materials to identify the objective and content of the training. Based on instructional design guidelines and best practices I structured the content, wrote copy and narration scripts, and created appropriate media to engage visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners. I designed assessment activities throughout the instruction to reinforce content and evaluate comprehension.

PLGR (Computer Based Training)

Role: ELearning Designe

he objective was to redesign English and French bilingual Computer-Based Training module used to train Canadian military personnel.

I collaborated with the Subject Matter Expert to architect the content into functional tasks instead of the existing "button-ology" approach in order to make the instruction relevant to practical situations.

To raise content retention and comprehension, I identified and created supplementary media to engage visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learners.

To reinforce instructional concepts I designed activities, such as quizzes, at appropriate stages throughout the instructions.
